She was born two whole minutes after her twin brother, Jameson. Yet anyone who observes them today would suggest that he's the older brother and she's the baby sister, which absolutely is true in its own right. She likes to laugh that J went first because he wanted to make sure the "real world" was a safe place for the both of them, but as they grew up, the joke was more of a pattern. J was always protective, always the older brother. And Ry... well, she'd always been the one who would cry and manipulate to get her way. A bit spoiled, you might say, but... decisive. She never has any doubts about who she is, and even then she didn't.

Five. That was the first time she put on a fake broadcast for her family. Or, well, her "extended" family. Her audience consisted of her brother, her parents, and the good old Sirius kids next door. Max obliged as her fake cameraman, the only job she'd let him have considering she didn't trust him not to screw up anything else. Melanie quietly agreed to be the weather woman, though she clammed up the moment it was her time. And the other boys-- Chase and Brae-- refused to do anything but sit quietly in the audience. Back then, Chase was a bit meaner. He teased her for a while.

That is, until he got a punch to the nose.

Intense? Maybe. You've never disliked that definition. Not that you're particularly emotional upon first glance-- you're just forceful, direct, unafraid to announce your true intent. You're bold, to say the least, and no matter what the world has to say, you go for what you want. You will get what you want.

No matter what, you refuse to be a victim in any scenario. Life pins you down in a difficult situation? You fight to get back up, you press forward, you break the mold. You've always been that way and you will always continue to be that way. Your first example of heartbreak was upon your mother's death as a child. You were too little to process it easily; your siblings dealt in their own ways, your sister going silent for a full year, your brother taking it upon himself to look after the two of you as your father dissolved into unrecognizable grief.

Not that you needed looking after. Perhaps your way of coping was being fiercely independent, learning how to take care of yourself from a young age. And when you and your siblings needed a break from each others' grief, you all went your separate ways-- each of you bonded with a different cousin's family, finding surrogate parents through that. You with the Sirius kids, Simon with the Aldebarans, Ruth with the Altairs, though they all connected with you in some way or another.

Your friendship with all three of your Sirius cousins is deeply important to you. Certainly your siblings come first, but they are a close second; they are, in a sense, your second set of siblings. You're eternally grateful for the support they provided you in a difficult time, even if you don't know how to voice it most of the time. Max's goofiness made you smile. Melanie's tenderness made you feel at home, made you feel cared for. And Chase's protectiveness made you feel safe, even if you normally didn't need that to feel alright. You learned to cope with them in tow, even if your siblings weren't so lucky.

Five. That was the first time you put on a fake broadcast for your family. Max obliged as your fake cameraman, the only job you'd let him have considering you didn't trust him not to screw up anything else. Melanie quietly agreed to be the weather woman, though she clammed up the moment it was her time. And the other boys-- Chase and Simon-- refused to do anything but sit quietly in the audience. Back then, Chase was a bit meaner. He teased you for a while.

You've always been fierce, a force to be reckoned with. But not like your almost-sister; you aren't as obsessive so much as you're demanding. You don't hesitate to put yourself first. You don't hesitate to step on others. And you certainly don't hesitate to play certain roles if you think it'll land you in a more sympathetic place. It often earns the title of "bitch," but you like to say that you just know what you want and how to get it.

The broadcast was an entire disaster, but it did leave you with a purpose; you knew, now, what you intended to do when you grew up. Even at five, you were fully aware. Sometimes it shifted to detective or lawyer, but you've always been interested in one thing and one thing only: investigation.

That branched into investigative journalism as you became older, as you just loved to talk. You’d inform anyone who listened about your most current discovery, be it political or social. In fact you have a tendency to be a gossip at times, though that isn’t what interests you most in investigation. Exposing true injustice is your passion, deep down to your core, far more than simple scandals.

So you're here, working on your education. Already investigating things on campus that people prefer to keep in private, like greek politics, hazing, that sort of thing, even if you're in a greek house yourself. No one is immune. Not even the staff.
