Who are you?

Ask a hundred different people and you'll get a hundred different answers. To be honest you're not even certain who you are most days, but it isn't an area of insecurity for you. Being genuine has always been overrated, in your mind; and it isn't as if you're a liar. You're just extremely... adaptable.

Some see you as innocent, cute, incorruptible. Some see you as the party girl who couldn't finish college to save her life. Some see you as studious and serious-- others see you as goofy and approachable. Depending on the day, all of these are true. But all of this is within your control-- what you love to do, more than anything, is change. It's a game to you. Who can you manipulate today? Who can you fool? Troll? Your cute face gets you through sticky situations, and you can make yourself cry on command. You're quite the little actress.

Not that you've ever tried to cover that up. In fact, when you're caught in the act, you have very little defense for yourself and you aren't too worked up. It's annoying when people expect you to be sincere, but you're willing to do it every now and then; you aren't a fucking sociopath, after all, just a little weird. Just a little self-centered and arrogant. Just you.

You love throwing people for loops, too. Someone might "get to know you" as one person, and you'll flip the tables the next day; you'll become the polar opposite not only in attitude but in dress, hair color, everything. They won't even recognize you. You love it. You even like to play up the idea of identical twins with contrasting personalities, though the cleanup resulting from the fallout there is not nearly as fun as the game itself.

If you were stripped down completely-- no added personas-- one would find you to be quite... normal. Undesirable, even. You're bratty, entitled, arrogant, and a loner when it comes down to it. You don't dislike yourself, but you aren't willing to let others come close to tell you of all your flaws. You gain a certain satisfaction from being the only person who knows yourself. Your family knows you, sure-- they spoiled you throughout childhood, after all, partially resulting in this personality-- but even they don't gain access to your most private thoughts. No one does.

Sometimes it's a lonely existence. Sometimes you see groups of people and feel purely envious, as you have no idea what that's like. There are a few people on campus who think of you as a best friend-- more like one of your personas rather than you yourself-- but you don't reciprocate the feeling. Everything is a shallow act. In fact you're quite certain that they wouldn't like who you truly are. Manipulative, judgmental, selfish... you're a collection of bad adjectives and you don't wear that badge with pride, necessarily. It's easier to sleep at night when someone else isn't pointing it out.

You also have trust issues. Relationships, friendships-- nah, no thanks. You prefer the shallow acts you put on, either in reality or on stage. Again, you've never tried to cover up the fact that you're an actress; you've always loved theatre, as it makes you feel like you. You have every intention of finding your way into Hollywood one day and winning awards. You have big dreams and goals and the talent to achieve it-- you just have to learn how to rely on other people along the way.

Perhaps, one of these days, you'll learn what it is to love a person, either platonically or romantically. But for now you're content being whoever you want to be.
