Full Name: Scarlett Sierra Arcturus
Year/Faculty Position: sophomore
Marital Status: single
Sexual Orientation: heterosexual
Play-by/Face claim: Emma Stone
Distinguishing marks: freckles dot her skin just about everywhere; thick, large, and black glasses
Appearance: What is noticeable first about Cricket is that she is small-- short and skinny, the poor girl is quite miserable and useless when it comes to any kind of physical exertion. Really-- she has no arm muscles to speak of and is somewhat weak. She likes to think that her brain is her strongest muscle. Cricket has red, curly hair that reaches her midback, and straight bangs that fall just below her eyebrows. Oftentimes when she blinks, they flinch along with it, and she's commonly found pushing these bangs out of her eyes. She also has bright green eyes, an easily noticeable trait once she's finally willing to make eye contact. Other than that, the girl is cute, but mostly a little plain, as she's not a fan of makeup or anything of the sort. Freckles are splayed over most of her skin, predominantly over her cheeks. Her hair is usually thrown up into an unassuming ponytail, too.
Likes: animals, books, art, the internet, video games, movies, television, photography
Dislikes: conversation, pressure, stress, feeling inferior, staying up past midnight
Strengths: intelligent, creative, inventive, goofy, optimistic, eager
Weaknesses: not the best conversationalist at first, very timid, ...goofy, physical stuff is a joke, worrisome, runs away from problems
Fears: not making any friends, betrayal, losing family
Habits: fingernail biting, lip biting, humming, tree climbing
To most people, Cricket seems quiet and reserved, to the point of avoiding all social contact when possible. And while this is true, she isn’t completely antisocial; in fact, she loves to have friends and is easily lonely when she doesn’t make them easily. It’s just that she has no idea how to establish initial contact, much less a friendship, so she’s quite often going off on her own to avoid rejection. She’s self-conscious and worrisome about these things to a fault; often she finds herself irrationally nervous when holding a small conversation.
However, once you break past that initial barrier with her (which isn’t so hard, if you’re willing to make some effort), you’ll discover a girl who wears her emotions on her sleeve, has opinions about everything, and approaches life with such optimism and zest that it’s hard to pull her down. The girl loves to smile and laugh, and will go to great lengths to make her friends do the same. She’s quite a goofy girl, too, and sometimes has trouble taking situations seriously when her friends are involved. Nothing can touch her as long as she has them, right? Or so she thinks...
Cricket is also irrationally obsessed with the outdoors. As a child she spent most of her time outside, and she didn’t grow out of it in her teenage years. In fact, her awkward tendencies developed because she was still so imaginative and excited about the world that she just wasn’t like any of her gossiping or stylish classmates. As such she was usually teased and brought down, deemed a geek by her peers. By college, her initial quiet, guarded attitude had already developed, and she didn’t have many friends, as she retreated to the outdoors.
Either way, the girl knows a lot about the outdoors-- animals, plants, fish, you name it. She seems to understand how the natural world works.
